Objectives
Evaluate and assess the Malaysian educational landscape in relation to special education integrative programmes with specific reference to current practices in inclusion.
Drawing upon available local and international best practices, develop modules and tools for holistic and sustainable inclusive education programmes, which shall include:
- Awareness Building Modules
- Professional Development Training Modules
- Instruments and Tools Development as represented by:
- Multidisciplinary Assessment Tool
- Assessment Instruments
- Checklist for Types of Disability for SEN Students
- Inclusive Readiness Checklist for SEN Students
- Academic Assessments for SEN Students (Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mathematics)
- Monitoring Tools
Based on local and international best practices, develop the training mechanism for schools and human resource capacity building to effectively support and implement HIEP.
Develop a model with framework, implementation strategies and Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for the establishment of an Inclusion Coordination Unit in selected Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD) which shall include a School Charter, a Train the Trainers Programme, and a platform for discussion and activities.
